Welcome to DIS Kindergarten.

At DIS Kindergarten we believe that teaching young learners is a lifelong calling. Children learn best when they are loved. Therefore, we are dedicated to creating a safe, friendly, and loving environment, where children feel confident and safe to express themselves freely through art, literature, and sports. My team and I have adapted a social and emotional development program through which we teach students to understand their feelings better, help them to express how they feel with words, ask for help when needed and learn to show empathy and offer help to others.
Our Program is centered on our students and their developmental needs. Students at the kindergarten level are eager to explore the world that surrounds them. Through an active and innovative form of learning, and hands-on experiences, our students develop a variety of age-appropriate skills. These skills encompass intellect, physicality, societal awareness, emotional intelligence, cognition, and semantics.
I strongly believe that if we want a chance for a better tomorrow, we need to educate the children of today; not just academics but how to be better participants in the community.

Curriculum

The American curriculum for kindergarten students involves a multitude of learning experiences that are grounded on a meaningful understanding of early childhood development. These practical experiences are established daily within an integrated process curriculum that follows common core standards for Language Arts, Mathematics, and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Science.
Our program adopts the ‘Whole Child’ Model that integrates six pathways for child development and growth, namely; the Academic, Cognitive, Ethical, Physical, psychological and Social Emotional aspects. At DIS we provide a caring, happy and stimulating learning environment that encourages children to grow in independence and fulfill their potential. Outdoor play areas are designed to accommodate Physical Education facilities, sand, water, role-play and various action-learning opportunities.
We use flexible instructional strategies based on our students’ needs and potentials; assessing different learning standards, and stimulating activities that engage students, as well as permit room for learning opportunities through inquiry-based exploring. Students are exposed to concrete, real-world activities to enable their knowledge of the space surrounding them. Students actively learn through purposeful play, while being exposed to deliberate guidance through entertainment.
